New lap in race = 32 resistance on downhill?

I did a 20-minute race on the "jungle" track and each time I came to the Start line, the bike would go to 32 resistance despite it being a downhill portion AND the bike showing 14 resistance on screen. It's as if the bike was trying to stop me after each lap. This really threw me off because I thought something was wrong with the bike.

    At least you can get to worlds. Mine won't let me get by the login screen of Worlds. It keeps saying I have no internet connection. Any chance you got this as well and figured out a way past it?
